World Pianos (worldpianos.singforhope.org) is operated by Sing for Hope, Inc., a nonprofit organization incorporated in New York. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and protect information when you visit the site or contact us. If you have questions, visit our Contact page or write to support@worldpianos.org.

Information we collect

Information you provide

When you use our Contact form, we collect your name, email address, and the message you send. We do not require you to create an account to use World Pianos.

Information collected automatically

Like most websites, our servers collect standard log data when you visit: your IP address, browser type, referring URL, and pages visited. We use this data solely to maintain and improve the site. We do not sell or share it for advertising purposes.

Piano submission data

If you submit a piano location or status update, we collect the information you provide (location, description, photo if any). This information may be published to the public directory.

How we use your information

  • To respond to inquiries submitted via our Contact form.
  • To add or update piano listings you submit.
  • To maintain, secure, and improve the site.
  • To comply with legal obligations.

We do not sell your personal information to third parties.

Email communications

We send email only in direct response to your contact form submission or as part of addressing a request you made. We do not maintain a marketing mailing list, and we will not add you to one without your explicit consent.

Third-party services

World Pianos uses the following third-party services:

  • Supabase — our database provider. Piano data and contact form submissions are stored in Supabase. See supabase.com/privacy.
  • Resend — our transactional email provider. Contact form messages are relayed through Resend. See resend.com/legal/privacy-policy.

These services are bound by their own privacy policies. We choose providers that commit to reasonable data-protection standards.

Cookies

World Pianos does not use tracking or advertising cookies. The site may set a session cookie for security purposes (CSRF protection on form submissions). This cookie contains no personal data and expires when you close your browser.

Your rights

You have the right to:

  • Request a copy of personal data we hold about you.
  • Request correction of inaccurate data.
  • Request deletion of your personal data.
  • Object to processing in certain circumstances.

To exercise any of these rights, contact us at worldpianos.singforhope.org/contact or email support@worldpianos.org. We will respond within 30 days.

Children's privacy

World Pianos is not directed to children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has submitted personal data to us, please contact us and we will promptly delete it.

Data retention

We retain contact form submissions for up to two years to allow for follow-up on ongoing matters, after which they are deleted. Piano directory data is retained indefinitely as part of the public record unless you request removal.

Security

We use industry-standard measures to protect your data, including encrypted connections (HTTPS), access controls, and regular security reviews. No method of transmission over the Internet is 100% secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

Changes to this policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will update the "Last updated" date at the top of this page. Continued use of the site after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
